Eskom Internships Programme; Eskom provides electricity that is generated, and distributed via their multiple power plants. Not only do they provide for about 95% of the power usage in South Africa, but moreover they also deliver approximately 45% of the power usage in Africa.
Eskom offers services to all industries, commercial, residential as well as agricultural, and mining. They are currently building additional plants, laying new power lines, and more to meet the demands. They are focused on improvement along with strengthening their core business.

Eskom internships are usually for 18 months. During this period, candidates will also receive a monthly stipend.

Eskom Internships Programme Requirements
Applications are accepted yearly for a variety of internships with Eskom. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Candidates will also be required to have the following:
- Matric with technical exemption
- English with a 50% pass rate
- Mathematics with a 60% pass rate
- Physical Science with a 60% pass rate
Non-Technical Disciplines
- An average of 60% pass rate
- Computer literate
- Be self-motivated and a team player
- Flexibility with a commitment to learning, but moreover willingness to work
For Graduates
- National diploma
- Driver’s License
- Own vehicle will be to the candidate’s advantage
- Previously disadvantage candidates are also invited to apply

Eskom Internships Programme Application
Internship online application processes are made available during the year. There are multiple sites where applications can be made, however, it is recommended to regularly check on Eskom website for opportunities as they arise.
After completion of the application, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and an interview may be scheduled with such individuals.
The closing dates vary, depending on the position as well as the need of Eskom each year. Some Eskom Internships open at the start of each year and usually close around the end of July each year. Others open in the middle of the year and close at the end of October.
Eskom do not accept any late entries, so be sure to have your application in on time. Do not forget to include all documentation and complete all fields of the application.
